The screening of Deadpool 2 marked the beginning of Kino Mediteran's summer season tonight in Bol.
Although Kino Mediteran is a year-long project, a new season starts with the the beginning of summer and moving the screenings from closed cinemas to open air ones. And the upcoming season brings many new things and enjoyable films.
This summer Kino Mediteran's distribution brings you „The Guilty“, a Danish thriller that won the audience awards at both Sundance and Rotterdam festivals, as well as the premier screenings of many other festival hits such as the Turkish comedy „Butterflies“, Palestinian drama „The Reports on Sarah and Saleem“ and the Spanish hit „Giant“. Another program to note is „Ferragosto in Kino Mediteran“, organized in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute, which will include the screenings of Italian hits such as „Emma“, „Love and Bullets“ and „Sicilian Ghost Story“ in August. Additionally, we will screen films from Zagreb Film Festival and films that have been filmed on our islands, such as the French „The Odyssey“ and the local island hit „The Eighth Commissioner“, which will have English subtitles in order to enable foreign visitors to attend the screenings as well. This island-themed program will culminate with screenings of „Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again“, a spectacle filmed on the island of Vis.
Children definitely won't be disappointed with the program, since we have hits such as „Incredibles 2“, „Hotel Transylvania 3“ and Disney's „Christopher Robin“. In addition to all of the above, film lovers will be able to see every important commercial title, so that together we can look forward to a long, hot film summer that is ahead of us.
After the opening of Kino Mediteran in Bol, the open air cinema in Komiža opens as well next Saturday, on 2 June, followed by other regular cinemas: Hvar, Lastovo, Jelsa and Supetar. Kino Mediteran tour program starts on 1 July in Makarska. You can find all the information on our web site, as well as on the Facebook pages of each individual town.
We have given you plenty of reasons to join our summer cinema sail and to find an open air cinema (or cinemas) to disembark in and enjoy the seventh art.
