We are proud to announce that Bačvice Open Air Cinema in Split is the 26th location in the Kino Mediteran network starting this season.
The City of Split and Zlatna Vrata Centre for Culture have given our team an incredible honor and trust to manage the Open Air Cinema and to create a program for the summer season. It is known that Kino Mediteran originated from Mediterranean Film Festival Split, which has taken place in Bačvice Open Air Cinema for the past 10 years. That is why managing this cinema is a great honor and responsibility.
„Our plans for the summer include a combination of independent and commercial program and children's films, because it is important to teach the youngest visitors to attend the screenings. Even before the whole story with Bačvice Open Air started, we had agreed on various programs for our cinemas, such as „Ferragosto in Kino Mediteran“ where we focus on Italian films, then „Filmed on the Islands“ program, the guest appearances of other festivals such as Motovun and Zagreb Film Festival, etc. Everything that has been arranged for other cinemas will be shown to the audience at Bačvice. When that part merges with the film classics by Zlatna Vrata cinema, I believe we can announce a good summer film season. This cooperation is a kind of „homecoming“ for us and we are looking forward to this new challenge and will do our best to justify the trust given to us by the City and the Centre, as well as that of our audience and every media representative that has supported FMFS and Kino Mediteran from the beginning.“ Said Alen Munitić, Artistic Director of Kino Mediteran.
The program for Bačvice open air cinema can be followed on Kino Mediteran webpage, as well as Bačvice Open Air Cinema Facebook page. The program starts on Sunday, 24 June at 21:30 wih an Oscar winner for the Best Foreign Language Film, „A Fantastic Woman“.
